Holy Cow! I'm Published!

Last Week's Blog > "Yep! I'm Thankful For That..."

It's happened... I'm officially published. I'm so excited!  Never in a million years did I think I'd have a piece published in a magazine. Heck, I never imagined I'd be writing a weekly blog on this site.

All through school I labeled myself a horrible writer and was told on more than one occasion that my writing was sub-par. So, to be published is a bit surreal. I guess when you have a story to tell that comes from the heart and the words just flow, writing isn't as intimidating anymore.

So, if you happen to live in the Chicago area, pick up the December issue of Chicago Parent magazine and look for my article, Four little words: Your child has cancer or click here.

On another note, Project Ladybug, a nonprofit organization focused on easing the struggles of childhood cancer through financial and emotional support for patients and their families, is launching in Chicago on December 15th. Each individual fund is dedicated in the name of a local child battling cancer and ours is called, Atia's Project Ladybug Fund. Please go to our Facebook fan page  and click "Like" to follow us.

Of course, I'd love to see you at the upcoming fundraisers, too. Atia will be making an appearance at the one on December 16th and so will Dina Manzo, founder of Project Ladybug and former Real Housewife of New Jersey.
