Cosmos For All My Girls

It's finally here.  Today Sex and the City 2 premieres and I am soooo excited.  I have been a loyal fan of these four fabulous women since the beginning.  I love everything about the show:  the shoes, the clothes, the relationships, the men, the shoes.  Did I already mention the shoes?  Yes?  Well they are worth repeating again.

There are so many great things about this show, however it was the strong, confident personalities of these women and their amazing friendships that kept me watching it.

So in honor of the movie coming out today, here is a toast to MY girlfriends.  One of them I have only known a few years and another I have known practically my whole life.  These women are amazing people and so important to me; I would be lost without them.  I may not meet these women for brunch every weekend or go out to bars with them anymore, but they have all had an incredible impact on my life.  Growing up, I always wanted to have a sister and instead of one, I was blessed with five:

Kim P. - I have known Kim since kindergarten so she has the most 'dirt' on me.  She is the one who will always 'call me out' on things, but will be there for me no matter what.  I have been through everything with her.  Kim loves life and is not afraid to be silly.  She is loyal and smart and very supportive.  She has an amazing family who I love like my own.

Kim B. - I met Kim B. in high school and she is my rock.  She is the very best listener and can make you feel good about yourself even when you make a mistake.  Even though she has been through a lot, she keeps a positive attitude that is infectious.  She is the first in line to help when you have problem.  Kim is another one that knows everything about me, but would never tell.

Kathy - Kathy and I became friends instantly.  I met her in high school when she was dating one of my guy friends.  They broke up, but Kathy and I stayed friends.  In high school, we would talk everyday at 10am, watch Days of Our Lives together while on the phone and hang out all night.  We may not talk everyday at 10am anymore, but if we could, we would.

Ana - I met Ana 12 years ago when she was dating my best guy friend Steve.  He said he knew there was something special about her and he was right.  There is something very special about Ana.  She has this amazing career and crazy busy life, but she is always there for you.  Ana really cares about what is going on in your life and is always willing to help any way she can.  She is strong and smart and has the best sense of humor.  Ana loves life and is so much fun to be around.

Honey - I have only known Honey for two years, yet I feel like I have known her forever.  We met at Gymboree and bonded immediately over our one-year olds and being pregnant together.  Our initial friendship as moms has grown into a great friendship beyond the kids.  Honey has a heart of gold, seriously the very nicest person you could ever meet.  We could talk for hours about kids, husbands, families and life in general. She is smart, incredibly caring and puts her friends before herself constantly.

Ladies, thank you for love and support.  I love you guys!

  • You DO have some cool girlfriends. You made me tear up with the shout out. Next time I see u, we are having a drink. These kids are cramping our style. Love you and I think I'm incredibly lucky to have you in my life.

  • In reply to abelaval:

I know right? I always want to get together with the kids because I want to see my cutie pie Amelia, but we are overdue for a girls night out.

  • In reply to abelaval:

Well I need my boys fix as well. We'll figure something out.

  • In reply to abelaval:

It is so important to have your girlfriends, isn't it? Great post, Lisa! Enjoy the movie with a Cosmo (or two!)

  • In reply to abelaval:

Thanks Nina! I have heard mixed reviews but who cares! I heard it's got a $10 million wardrobe budget and over 40 wardrobe changes just for Carrie...yeah!

  • In reply to abelaval:

Marc - Thanks! You are right...what one person dislikes, another person loves.

  • In reply to LisaWitek:

Exactly! Think about LOST's finale - I LOVED it and some others totally hated it! Go and enjoy the movie :-)

  • In reply to LisaWitek:

We want the movie to be good but we want the fashion to be BETTER! I can't wait.

  • In reply to LisaWitek:

The shoes! I love them, but could NEVER wear them! I don't think I could have worn them even in my 20s!

As far as reviews, I use the garage sale analogy, "One person's trash is another person's treasure."

What a great tribute to your girlfriends!

  • In reply to LisaWitek:

Thanks Anita! The movie was fun and the clothes were great!
