Monday Morning Quarterback: 3/11/2011

Another wonderful weekend of spending every night out looking at art…er…not so much. Friday night was a success, we saw lots of great stuff, made it to two extra exhibitions I needed to make it to on top of my listed plans, gave rides to two people (which always makes me happy when we’re driving),... Chicago Gallery Snack Report: March 3rd through March 13th

Co-Prosperity Sphere featured bottles of Miller High Life, and curators Linda Dorman and Tom Torluemke brought an assortment of pies, cakes, and brownies. Stephanie thought the cake was too sweet; she should have known better: you don't expect subtlety from something that bright pink! I found the apple pie more to my taste. After enjoying our beers and desserts, we ended up buying a small Billy Pozzo sculpture, which looks like the top half of a submerged zombie's head, who now lives in a bowl in our living room. Thanks guys!

by Stephanie Burke and Jeriah Hildwine David Weinberg Gallery – 300 W. Superior St., #203. The Collective. Reception 5-8pm. Jeriah:  It’s sad to see David Weinberg closing his space, or I guess I should say re-purposing it; he’s closing the gallery as a business but will continue to operate his space for some of his... Chicago Gallery Snack Report: Friday, September 10th, 2010

The West Loop was pretty dry. Steph noticed at Tony Wight that some guests got Goose Island, others got Pabst. (She got Pabst.) When I went in, it was packed, and I didn't see any beer anywhere. Up the street, at 119 Peoria, the Pernod people were set up, selling Pernod Absinthe Sours and Old Fashioneds for a $5 donation. Linda Warren did still have her famous punch, though!
by Jeriah HildwinePhotos by Stephanie Burke This snack report covers the openings on Friday, September 10th, the opening of the Fall gallery season.  We hit the openings in both River North and the West Loop.  Most of the River North galleries served at least wine, if not food, while the West Loop was pretty dry. ... Monday Morning Quarterback, September 10th, 2010

Jeriah: Looking at the surface of these things up close, you get curious about how they were made. Some kind of wood inlay, it seems. They were neat-o. Unforunately it seems we didn't get any images from Linda Warren, our last stop, which had a great show of Chuck Walker's work!
by Stephanie Burke and Jeriah Hildwine This slideshow contains images from the opening of the Chicago gallery season, on Friday, September 10, 2010, with commentary from Steph and Jeriah.  It was a crazy night with a lot to see, so we saw a lot but didn’t get to spend as much time with each work... Chicago Gallery Snack Report: Friday, June 11th

by Jeriah HildwinePhotos by Stephanie Burke This week was a new landmark for this snack reporter, in more ways than one.  First off, Steph and I decided to ride our bikes to the galleries!  It was really hot and muggy out, as some of you may remember, which ensured that we were sweaty, tired, and...
