All told, it was an epic weekend, full of art, snacks, and good times.
by Stephanie Burke and Jeriah Hildwine You wake up, bleary-eyed, not sure where, or even who, you are.  “Why am I sticky?” you ask yourself.  “Did I see a man with an axe, chopping up puppies?”  Congratulations.  You survived Art Chicago. Check out the slideshow for images from Artropolis (Art Chicago/NEXT), some Black Pass events,... Read more »

Robertello's New Digs: Peter Allen Hoffmann and Jason Robert Bell at Thomas Robertello Gallery

By Jeriah HildwinePhotographs by Stephanie Burke Thomas Robertello has moved into his new space at 27 N Morgan, just around the corner from his old location.  It’s a step up, more spacious (although still not huge) and with a cleaner feel, more “white cube” than the old space, with fashionably-unfinished concrete floor, huge storefront windows,... Chicago Gallery Snack Report: Friday, September 10th, 2010

The West Loop was pretty dry. Steph noticed at Tony Wight that some guests got Goose Island, others got Pabst. (She got Pabst.) When I went in, it was packed, and I didn't see any beer anywhere. Up the street, at 119 Peoria, the Pernod people were set up, selling Pernod Absinthe Sours and Old Fashioneds for a $5 donation. Linda Warren did still have her famous punch, though!
by Jeriah HildwinePhotos by Stephanie Burke This snack report covers the openings on Friday, September 10th, the opening of the Fall gallery season.  We hit the openings in both River North and the West Loop.  Most of the River North galleries served at least wine, if not food, while the West Loop was pretty dry. ... Monday Morning Quarterback, September 10th, 2010

Jeriah: Looking at the surface of these things up close, you get curious about how they were made. Some kind of wood inlay, it seems. They were neat-o. Unforunately it seems we didn't get any images from Linda Warren, our last stop, which had a great show of Chuck Walker's work!
by Stephanie Burke and Jeriah Hildwine This slideshow contains images from the opening of the Chicago gallery season, on Friday, September 10, 2010, with commentary from Steph and Jeriah.  It was a crazy night with a lot to see, so we saw a lot but didn’t get to spend as much time with each work...
