This is a big weekend, for obvious reasons (Art Chicago, if you've been living on mars, under a rock, in a cave, with no radio, television, newspaper, Internet, or smoke signals, with your eyes closed and your fingers in your ears), and it's going to be a crazy, epic, breakneck rush to make it to everything we want to see.
Friday we're hitting a couple of Art Chicago Black Pass VIP events, then headed out to SAIC's MFA show, and then up to Firecat Projects. If you're not busy with Art Chicago events, you might also check out UIC's MFA Thesis #4.
Gallery 400 - 400 S. Peoria St. UIC MFA Thesis Exhibition #4. Reception 5-8pm.
School of the Art Institute Sullivan Galleries - 33 S. State St. MFA Thesis Exhibition. Reception 8-10pm.
Firecat Projects - 2124 N. Damen Ave. Joe Amrhein. Reception 7-9pm.
Saturday we've got some more Black Pass events, then hit the galleries via the free shuttles courtesy of Chicago Gallery News and Art Chicago/NEXT. We're going to hit it and quit it pretty quick, though, because Jeriah's got work up in a group show at Studio 1020! The show is called FUCK ART CHICAGO, and all of the work is 8 1/2" x 11". I'm showing a series of drawings I did between the ages of 12 and 20, from 1992 to 2000. Come by and check 'em out.
