This weekend was a pretty quiet one, but we did venture out to Fill in the Blank and LVLIII, for art, hanging with our homies, a couple of drinks, and to get our snack on.

On Friday night, we didn't have to go too far.  It's a short walk from home for us over to Fill In The Blank Gallery for "Body
Tempest", a video piece created by Allen Killian-Moore.  Strangely, the subject of Killian-Moore's video is Levi Nies, with whom Stephanie went to high school in a small town in rural inland northern California.  This association must have been bittersweet, since the video documents Levi's suffering from a serious illness.  But it was a good show.

The ladies at Fill in the Blank have had a consistently strong record as purveyors of food and drink at their openings, and this night they were true to form.  You had your choice of cheap red wine or cheap white wine, and as always, we went red.  We had our backpacking wine glasses with us for maximum sustainability.

The ladies of Fill in the Blank set out their usual array of awesome snacks.

FITB usually has a pretty good snack setup, and this was among their strongest.  A roasted red pepper hummus with pita chips, plus a variety of vegetables including baby carrots, cucumbers, and red peppers, plus peanuts, strawberries, and grapes.  I always feel so healthy snacking at Fill in the Blank!  Of course, there were some sweets, too:  sugar cookies shaped like woodland creatures, and some kind of brownies or something.

I kept slipping the grapes and sliced strawberries into Stephanie's drink like they were roofies.  Of course, put them in my own drink, because they are tasty.  Sort of like an improvised sangria cooler or something.  Thanks for the snacks, ladies!  And great show!

I am Not Superstitious at LVL3

LVLIII serving beer, wine, and champagne!

Saturday we headed over to LVL3, for I Am Not Superstitious, the gallery's first
anniversary show, featuring works by Veronica Rafael and Ben DriggsLVL3 was serving cans of PBR, cups of wine, and champagne.  Steph and I each had a couple of Pabsts, and I had one small celebratory cup of champagne, just to congratulate LVL3 on their first year!  Congrats, guys!
