Greetings from the West (coast, that is)

Hello everyone! First off, some apologies are in order. ATC has slowed down a bit lately, on account of my busyness and the switch, but fear not, there will be a beautiful lineup for the new year. Now, on to the headline. I am, as I write, sitting in my mother's living room in Nevada City (which is NOT in Nevada), having just spent the last three days in San Francisco.

While in SF, I stayed in the Mission District with a buddy of mine. One thing I friggin' love about the Mission District are the copious amounts of murals. Though there are (probably) thousands of murals in the Mission, the most famous, and longest continuously muraled place in the neighborhood is Balmy Alley. Since the early 70's artists have been creating and re-creating murals in this iconic alley. I also figured Chicagoans would like to see what happens in the alleys out west. Some inspiration, perhaps?

The slide show below is a selection of Balmy Alley murals I saw. Enjoy!
