The Lincoln Park Zoo, my pick to showcase, is a must for any Chicago Summer. The Zoo features 35-acres of big cats, polar bears, gorillas, and more. All-in-all, over 1,200 animals are on display daily for you to enjoy.
Founded in 1868, the Lincoln Park Zoo is also one of the oldest zoos in the United States. It is also important to point out that the Zoo is completely free to visitors.
The Zoo remains free because it receives funding from visitor donations, members, donors, and an annual subsidy from the Chicago Park District. So, while visiting the Zoo and enjoying its awesome features, be sure to drop a few bucks in a donation bucket and/or purchase something from the store or concession stands.
Just recently, my partner and I went on a visit to the Zoo. We actually had such a good time, that we ended up going two days in a row. You can see photos from our visit in the gallery below.
Once you click through the gallery, be sure to head on over to the Zoo located at 2001 North Clark Street in Chicago.
