Festivals galore in the 'burbs this weekend!

Festival Season is completely underway now. With the big Fourth of July Holiday coming up next week, many villages and cities are starting their festivals this weekend.

In my neighborhood, Palatine's 55th Annual Hometown Fest opens tomorrow at 5:00 p.m. Of course, if you are in the area and have a handheld video game, be sure to come out to the Festival on Sunday, July 1st at Noon. At that time, the Jaycees will try to set a Video Game World Record for the most people playing a hand-held video game at one time in one location.

Another huge event that I may make it out to is the Eyes to Sky Festival in Lisle. Though the event is already underway, if you are show up at 6 a.m. or 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday, you can see the balloon launches happen. Balloon Glows occur at 8:00 p.m. This is sure to be an awesome experience, especially one for you to bring your camera.

Naperville's annual RibFest takes place this weekend as well. From what I understand, this event is so big that everybody already knows about it. Just FYI though, ZZ Top is performing there this weekend.

One event that is not this weekend, but one that you should totally mark your calendar for is Rockin' the Blocks. This new festival will be held by my friends at the Palatine Chamber of Commerce on July 28, 2012, from Noon to 11:0o p.m. I will be sure to post more details as they become available, but make sure you leave that day open.

If you have an event in your area that is awesome and fun, be sure to tell me about it. You can either leave a comment below, or let me know over on Facebook or Twitter.
