Next Wednesday is National Pet Owner's Day. In preparation for this day of recognition, be sure to show your animals some love. Sometimes we take our animals for granted. We know that they will be there for us when we need them, so we forget to be there for them sometimes when life gets a bit too busy.
As you can see in the photo above, animals bring joy to people. Studies show that bringing your dog to work with you will lower your stress level and improve office morale. The study even shows that the animal in the office place does not have to be yours for it to have a positive effect on your health.
So, now is the time to ask your boss if you can bring your best friend to work next week. First and foremost, your pet will love the extra attention, and secondly, the office will fall in love your pets.
Last week, I took my Nibbler to work. He had the best time. You can read about his day at work here.
The day went so well in fact, that earlier this week, my boss and I both brought our puppies to work. The residents and staff fell in love.
The animals loved the extra attention, the staff made a point to socialize with the boss to see her pets, and the residents loved the staff having a piece of our home life at work. Residents said it made them feel more connected to the staff.
The same could be true for your business. Whether you work in a senior care facility, like I do, or an insurance office, people bond with animals. Having an animal in the work place will immediately make your work day better.
So, get permission to bring your pet to work next Wednesday. You will be so glad you did!
