Last year, Mary Tyler Mom posted Donna's Cancer Story. The story was centered around her daughter's 31-month battle with cancer. Unfortunately, Donna lost her battle with cancer at the age of 4.
In memory of her daughter, Mary Tyler Mom has started Donna's Good Things. Though I find it to be a wonderful organization, I will let you read about the organization as it is posted on Donna's Good Things homepage. I feel they can explain it a lot more than I can, and it would mean more coming from those closest to the story.
"You've reached the online home of Donna's Good Things. We believe that the best way to honor and remember a person who has died is to do good works in their name. Our daughter Donna died of a brain tumor in 2009. We started this foundation during her vigil by funding a dance scholarship in her name. We’ve grown since then, with lots of help from you, creating more good things.
Donna's Good Things works to provide joyful opportunities for children facing adversity. We also provide an online community to honor the many good things that Donna inspires in you.
Donna was amazing. She helped us find the joy in everyday life, even in the midst of cancer, and from all accounts, helped you, too. Our goal is for you to visit this site to find hope, give back, get inspired. We want a movement, not a charity!"
As you can see, this is a wonderful turn around for such a tragic event. So, today while you celebrating love (or single-hood), take a moment and do something good. Do it for Donna. Do it for a little girl who never got the chance to grow up and experience a real Valentine's Day with the love of her life.

For the record, an anonymous donor will match donations up to $2,000 until February 18th. So, what better time to show some love. Give today in memory of Donna!
