COMMUNITY REINVESTMENT LEADERS STATEMENT TO ANDY SHAW, BETTER GOVERNMENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION (BGA) "VOTE NO TO ENDING LEGISLATIVE SCHOLARSHIPS, BUT VOTE YES FOR BETTER TRANSPARENCY"

"Andy, why end the scholarship program instead of advocating stricter monitoring and controls that ensure it goes to deserving individuals in the legislative districts.?

The State Student Scholarship Program is broke, so what is left for struggling, college-bound students to try for?

We can only support a stricter and more transparent program with regard to legislative scholarships, but not the full elimination of the program.
