Last week, I along with members of Black Wall Street Chicago publicly called on Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel to publicly support Pastor Corey Brooks of the New Beginnings Church when Brooks spent his first day spending the night on the roof that abandoned motel on 66th & King Drive for the development of a new Black owned and operated faith based business, school and jobs. While Mayor Rahm Emanuel did not personally respond to our appeal, we are pleased today to hear that Mayor Rahm Emanuel DID in fact place a call to Pastor Brooks this morning and pledged his support, and Pastor Brooks reported this on WVON's Cliff Kelley show. Continued prayers for Pastor Brooks and thanks to Mayor Emanuel.
