Dave Duerson Funeral Services Saturday February 26th

This is such a painful announcement to make as I reflect on how Dave was so full of energy two weeks ago when he was on WVON talking about the comeback of his sausage company and his new products that were returning to the major markets, and then a week later he was dead. I will always remember his kindness and support for others when he was a member of Rainbow/PUSH and I was as assistant to Rev. Jackson. My thanks to Teesee Hooks from The Chicago Defender who sent me the information to post on Dave's funeral arrangements.

Funeral services for Dave Duerson, former Chicago Bear safety, will be held Saturday
after the Masonic services at 11 am at Antioch Baptist Church, 62nd and
Stewart. Duerson was a Prince Hall Mason with Hiram Lodge #14 and a
33rd degree Mason with Western Consistory #28. The Masons of Hiram Lodge
are saddened over the loss of their brother, but according to
Worshipful Master of Hiram Lodge Lamonte Wilson this is the last honor
which will be bestowed upon a Mason, a Masonic funeral.
Duerson was also a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.
