WHY MAINSTREAM MEDIA ONLY CONSIDERS MAINSTREAM MEDIA AS LEGITIMATE WHEN LOCAL COMMUNITY MEDIA MATTERS TOO !
IT'S RECOGNITION TIME FOR
GRASSROOTS TV ADS AND GRASSROOTS VIEWERS AND VOTERS WHO SEE AND RESPOND TO THE GRASSROOTS TV ADS FOR BRAUN FOR MAYOR
**The two grassroots TV ads running on local Chicago Access TV stations supportingare attached**
The mainstream media seems to have been decided that the ONLY TV ads that Chicago voters see promoting a Chicago Mayoral campaign are only legitimate if the citizens are watching them on a mainstream commercial TV outlet although the same Chicago citizens that can watch Chicago's commercial TV stations can also view the local TV channels of Chicago Access TV (CAN-TV), where this week the
The release of two TV ads that will now reach hundreds of thousands of grassroots voters through a number of local cable shows on Chicago's cable access tv shows (CAN-TV) and we are distributing the TV ads to 200,000 email blasts to grassroots community organization members across the city. We know that while major political pundits judge campaigns by major commercial TV, I also know from a grassroots media perspective that hundreds of thousands Chicago voters that Braun needs to reach can also be reached through CAN-TV and through our social and grassroots community outreach. The ads have just been posted on YouTube as well and they feature footage of Braun, along with Rev. Meeks, and Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Sr.
The coalition of grassroots media production team was led by Naimah Latif and The Media Connection.
Following the TV ads released today, we are also announced that starting this Saturday and every Saturday until the election from 9:00 PM until 10:00 PM of WVON-AM 1690, I, along with another veteran political activisthosted the "From Harold To Carol" voter education and voter mobilization hour to generate grassroots community support for Braun For Mayor.
This week Carol Moseley Braun has went from 6% to 21 % in major polling, from 150 volunteers to almost 500, and the momentum continues through non commercial outlets but its working, but its impact at the grassroots level is being totally ignored by the mainstream political reporting. Its yet another "Harold to Carol" comparison in that the mainstream media then never gave any real credibility to the impact of WVON and grassroots promotions for Harold until Harold won, and today the mainstream media can focus on the momentum of Chico and Emanuel and dismiss Carol like Harolds ability to mobilize through less expensive media outreach and appear not to want to validate the grassroots TV impact until she puts her message on the mainstream outlets next week.
