honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr's name and in commemoration of
how he spent his own last birthday on earth organizing a demonstration
for jobs for poor people
-- a coalition of next generation civil rights leadership from the
religious, community, civic, and business community will host a public
press event calling for Illinois Governor Quinn (in the spirit of
substance and not just symbolism commemorating Dr. King) to find the
resources to save a major jobs program designed for 26,000 low income
workers, with 13,000 of those in Chicago called "Put Illinois
To Work," which ends on Dr. King's actual birthday on January 15th.  We
must commemorate Dr. King's birthday announcing that 26,000 needy low
income workers are working versus a massive job layoff on Dr. King's
birthday!!
