ChicagoNow Radio is on WGN 720 on Saturday mornings and I got to be on air!!
The ChicagoNow Radio format features 30 minute installments with various bloggers talking with Bill Leff. I arrived early and got a wonderful tour of the station from producer Kristin and I hung out in the green room with Eliza who writes Pretty Cheap.
Years ago, I was The Sandman for
Mix 94.5 down in Champaign, Illinois and I did overnights and then stayed to work with Morning Crew with
Jerome and
Melissa! I loved radio, but I hated the weird hours and tons of work for little or no pay... so what do I do? I move to Chicago and enter the World of Improv with even less pay and lots more work. I never learn.
Oh, and there was Festival of Lights outside the windows of WGN. I saw a long line of kids and this happened off-air:
Jason: Hey, are they waiting for Santa Claus? Is that Santa Claus?
Bill: No, I think that's just some guy in a costume, Jason.
Jason: Damnit. I guess I'll stay then.
There are great pics over here:
