SNL Stands Pat, Hires Chicagoan!

One of Chicago's best improvisers is moving to New York to join Saturday Night Live!

Michael Pat O'Brien has been pulling double-duty for the past few years; part of the Second City Mainstage cast and a member of the long-running improv ensemble, The Reckoning. After a recent round of "Get Famous Fridays" (which I talked about here), and being flown out to NY for an official audition, Pat (that's what everyone in Chicago calls him) leaves in two weeks for NYC.

(admittedly, this is a terrible picture of Pat.)

He'll join Chicago Improv Alumni Seth Meyers and Jason Sudekis along with fellow writer John Lutz!
It's a great thing and not only because Pat is one of the oddly great (or greatly odd) improvisers in Chicago, but because he's a really nice guy.
We get a few more chances to see him perform around Chicago before he heads out! Check your local listings! (see the links above for schedules n such.)
Congratulations, Pat!

Here's a video that Pat made with fellow Reckoning player, Jake Schneider about the art of Pratkour:
