I love science. The following is just a little taste of what we’ve discovered.
We are but one planet in one solar system of one star in one galaxy out of a universe of hundreds of billions of galaxies and billions of trillions of stars.
We are made of star stuff owing the possibility of our existence to exploding stars long ago.
We evolved from other animals and have a connection to all living things.
Electricity, microprocessors, space flight, nuclear power, and countless other technologies were brought to us by science.
Explanations for lightning, rainbows, diseases, earth quakes, seasons, and countless other natural occurrences have been provided by science.
What has religious supernaturalism provided?
Arrogant and baseless claims of divine authority, delusions of divine favoritism, bigotry, roadblocks to scientific progress, superstition and confusion.
To be fair there is secular philosophy that can be found in religion especially Eastern religions such as Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism. Don’t chain your mind to a creed. Keep your horizons open to discover the best of life’s guidance.
Philosophy and science is all that’s needed for a good life and a noble death. No divinity is required.
