When it comes to the list of responsibilities bridesmaids have during their stint in a wedding party, the bride tends to place a lot of trust into her friends--trust that they're making this wedding as much of a priority as she is, trust that they're reading the seven-paragraph emails that she so carefully crafted, and trust that they would tell her if something was off with their dresses. But from someone who will be in her tenth wedding this September, I can tell you--while I am on top of my game these days, those first few stints as a bridesmaid were filled with close calls--frantic visits to whatever tailor was open late, several reminder emails from the bride asking when I was going to pick up my dress, and a complete of lack of knowledge about what was to be hemmed to what length.
Enter Weddington Way, an online service for brides that allows them to track their 'maids interest in styles, whether they've ordered their dress, and whether it's arrived. Filled with countless designer names, styles, and colors, brides can register on the site and organize top picks for their wedding party to anonymously give their input. Once the top dress--or dresses--have been chosen, bridesmaids can order at their convenience, allowing the bride to see who still needs the dress and who is all set.
Not only does this organize a task the bride may not have at the top of her list (at least until later stages), it also helps pull together friends with busy schedules, lack of direction, or even those out of town. For more information, visit WeddingtonWay.com.
And if you've used this service, I'd love to hear your feedback!
