neutral TV zone: 24/7 Penguins Capitals is for girls, too

While I am a bit of a psycho Red Sox fan (I prefer the term "dedicated") and you will find me glued to the TV/computer the minute NCAA gets remotely close to March Madness, most of the time, I choose to use my TV to catch up on dramas, comedies, reality shows, and Iron Chef. My boyfriend, however, watches approximately three stations: ESPN, ESPN2 and Comcast Sportsnet. So when it comes to watching TV together, there is a little bit of whining, a little compromise, and a lot of watching TV in separate rooms.

But every once in a while, we find something we both enjoy. The 30 for 30 series is one of those rare gems, and this weekend, we found another winner under the sports documentary umbrella--HBO's 24/7 Penguins Capitals which follows both teams every day leading up to the Winter Classic. Beyond the clunky name, the show is seamlessly edited, allowing a glimpse into the day-to-day lives of two of the league's best teams, from the games themselves to personal and family time. Below, some of the top reasons you'll enjoy it even if you're not a hockey fan. Check out the series finale tonight on HBO and catch up on the first three installments On Demand. And if you don't like it, he owes you one!
