Give Cake, Give Back

Happy Monday, readers! This weekend, my roommate and I had the pleasure of attending a Blogger Bake Sale at the soon-to-be-opened Smash Cakes at Lincoln and Wellington. Not only did we stuff our faces with everything from lime cheesecake with Oreo crumbles, vanilla cupcakes with strawberry frosting, and peanut butter and chocolate bars, but we got the extra bonus of knowing our money went to a good cause--Share Our Strength, which helps fight childhood hunger. If you're like me, your go-to baked goods location is the delectable Sweet Mandy B's, but I love to throw in some variety and support other Chicago businesses as well. Take a look at these fabulous and talented women and keep their websites in your back pocket for your next bachelorette pre-party or bridal shower dessert.

If you're planning a party for your bride-to-be, chances are you're looking for food to serve, and that usually includes sweets. Whether it be a traditional shower with a smattering of desserts offered at the end, or a bachelorette pre-party where you open gifts at someone's apartment or rented hotel suite, having lush cupcakes, cookies, or baked goods on hand brings the enjoyment to the next level. Check out the links below for some of the latest deliciousness Chicago has to offer. As a plus, if you can line up with a charity bake sale, you get to give back to a good cause while giving your stomach--and your friends!--some extra happiness.
