Princess and the Frog Inspired Engagement Photos

I haven’t been blogging much lately, because I’ve been planning my fairytale wedding! When my fiance and I were thinking of ideas for engagement photos, I thought of ways we could incorporate our wedding theme in the pictures. Disney’s The Princess and the Frog is the inspiration for our wedding theme. Since the film is... Read more »

Costumes of C2E2 2012

The Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2) is just a memory now, and I had a blast! The convention floor was impressive. There were plenty of vendors, artist, and celebrity guests. From a cosplayers perspective, two things I loved right away were the changing rooms, and the wider aisle on the convention floor. Last year,... Read more »

Themed weddings can actually be classy

This Thomas Kinkade painting has been my main source of inspiration for our wedding. It highlights some of the most gorgeous imagery from the movie. Our colors are dark purple and olive green. I want to incorporate the fireflies (twinkling lights), glowing water lilies (center pieces) and we're going to incorporate the frogs, and the draping tree moss...but I don't want to give all my secrets away.

New Narnia Trailer Released (VIDEO)
When I heard that Disney dropped the Narnia franchise I was worried. I absolutely loved the first two films (and both orchestral soundtracks are on my iPod). Watching The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe special edition on DVD twice in a row one weekend, with all the behind the scenes features, actually inspired me... Read more »

Controversial Disney Characters

Controversial Disney Characters
Disney has been one of the pioneers of animated feature films, and we’ve all grown up with their classic movies. But, as one blogger, Amy Cook, brought to my attention, “Disney movies actually entail some pretty blatant racist and sexist overtones.” Are there messages in these cartoons that some would find offensive? Amy’s blog features... Read more »

Saban buys back Power Rangers from Disney

This is the best news I’ve heard ALL DAY! I’m a huge Power Ranger fan, and I’m also a huge Disney fan, but since Disney has owned Power Rangers the show has gone down hill. Saban Entertainment, owned by Haim Saban, distributed Power Rangers from 1993 until the end of 2001 when the Walt Disney... Read more »
