My 30th Anniversary Voltron Design Contest Entry
I’m stretching my design muscles yet again for a We Love Fine t-shirt design contest. This time, it is in celebration of the 30th Anniversary of Voltron, also known as the 80s cartoon that most certainly sparked my future obsession with Power Rangers and giant robots in general. I originally was going to create two... Read more »

My Favorite Fictional Couples

Damon and Elena (The Vampire Diaries) When Damon first showed up in the series, he was the villain. He manipulated people, he killed when he had to, and he was a total jerk to everyone. Damon is impulsive, but he’s one of the best vampires I’ve seen on television. He cares about Elena, and they balance each other out pretty nicely. I love seeing them together.
In honor of Valentine’s Day, I thought I would share with you all a short list of my personal favorite epic love stories. Who are some of your favorite fictional couples?

He travels to different cons with his crew, and they set up speed dating sessions for the people attending the convention. Sci-Fi Speed Dating came to Chicago’s C2E2 this past year. I didn’t go, but... Read more »

Themed weddings can actually be classy

This Thomas Kinkade painting has been my main source of inspiration for our wedding. It highlights some of the most gorgeous imagery from the movie. Our colors are dark purple and olive green. I want to incorporate the fireflies (twinkling lights), glowing water lilies (center pieces) and we're going to incorporate the frogs, and the draping tree moss...but I don't want to give all my secrets away.
When most people think of Disney animated films, they think of their childhood. Some people might argue that those are kids’ movies. I’ll admit, I grew up with Disney too, but I don’t know if I’ll ever be too old for Disney. I’ve never been one of those girls who knew exactly what she wanted... Read more »

Upscaled geeked-out Valentine's weekend

After some serious indulging, we worked out for a couple of hours this weekend. Did I mention I love the Wii?

Much to my surprise,... Read more »

Dating for Geeks

Dating in general is a complicated game, with rules and signals I’ve never been able to fully comprehend. For geeks and nerds (like myself), dating can be even more difficult. Geeks take their hobbies very seriously, and other people don’t always get it. I can only speak from personal experience, but I find it difficult... Read more »

Geeky Cakes: Feed your inner nerd
I’m at that age where I’m starting to really think about marriage and children. I’ve never been the type to think of baby names, or wedding theme ideas, but lately a lot of my cosplay friends have been getting engaged. So I’ve had nerdy domestic bliss on the brain recently. These couples go to conventions... Read more »
