Fun times at the Bristol Ren Faire

The Bristol Renaissance Faire takes place every summer right at the Illinois/Wisconsin boarder in Kenosha. This was the second year in a row my boyfriend Mike and I got dressed up and headed out to Bristol. If you're looking for someplace fun, whimsical, full of jousting, music, chivalry, and you don't have a time machine...go to Bristol!

You don't have to wear a costume, but I find it more fun if you do. The first year, I wore a corset. This time around I was smarter, and dressed in more comfortable gypsy attire. My boyfriend wore his samurai costume, and we both got plenty of compliments on our costumes. We had some great food, saw live performances, and bought a few souvenirs. If my schedule weren't so busy, I'd love to go back this year. There's so much to see; I think this is definitely going to be an annual trip for us.
