I was officially dubbed the "most awesome girlfriend ever," after I gave my boyfriend a silver Nindento DS Lite, Pokémon Pearl, and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, for our one-year anniversary this past weekend. My boyfriend is a huge gamer, and I've had my DS Lite for a couple of years. Now we have matching DS Lites and it makes my inner gamer girl squeal with excitement.
I had Pokémon Diamond already, and bought him Pearl because I knew they
were compatible, and we'd be able to battle and trade.
Last night I was able to utilize Nintendo's WiFi for the first time to
battle and voice chat with my boyfriend from Michigan! It was the
coolest thing ever.
My boyfriend has only had the game for the weekend, and he's already got pokémon that are Level 16! My strongest pokémon was Level 14, I believe, and I've had the game a lot longer (granted, I don't play as much as he does, but I have to catch up now!). I bought our Diamond and Pearl games super cheap on eBay, and we're both having some technical issues with them (which should be expected when you spend $6 on a game I suppose). After discussing the new Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, we thought it would be a good idea to buy them sometime. We'd also have a lot more WiFi game play options with the newer games.
I stayed up last night playing, and trying to level up my pokémon, for my next WiFi date with the boyfriend. Pokémon is a lot more exciting when you have someone to play against. I have a new found competitiveness that's kind of fun! I know he let me win yesterday, so I'll have to train my pokémon so we'll be able to have a fair match next time.
I had to run to the Wal-Mart pharmacy this morning for some fluke eye allergy, and my boyfriend suggested I pick up the new Pokémon game while I was there. I didn't think twice about it really, because I've been wanting this game for a while, and now I'll have someone to play with. So, I went into the store looking for eye drops, and came out with a new video game (and eye drops). I bought Pokémon HeartGold before I left for work today, and as I write this blog, the game is sitting next to my purse...taunting me!!! My boyfriend is buying Pokémon SoulSilver after he gets off work today, and I can't wait until we can both play using WiFi! I even listened to my Pokémon: 2.B.A. Master soundtrack from 11 years ago on my drive to work today. I've seriously got pokémon on the brain!
