About this Blog

Aging in Chicago surveys both the local and national long term services and supports (LTSS) ecosystem for older adults and explores how it is transforming to meet the new demand of an aging society.

Learn more about:

  • How increasing demand for services, regulatory changes and evolving consumer expectations will present new challenges to area providers of LTSS.
  • The implications for Illinois’ move to risk-based managed care for Medicaid enrollees and its programmatic initiatives to improve access to home and community based services for that population.
  • The evolution of the skilled nursing facility’s role in post-acute care delivery and the implications of the Great Recession on the senior housing and LTSS providers.
