Ladies and gentleman, start your peanut butter cups!
These are not your average Reese's peanut butter cups too. I am so over those years ago. I am now into the big leagues.
We are talking about Theo Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups and Justin's Peanut Butter Cups - two organic brands that you can find at your local Whole Foods. I prefer my chocolate to be at a more higher quality, taste very good and come from a more organic source. I have the same higher standards when it comes to my peanut butter too.
In one corner, I have Justin's peanut butter cups. I have been eating these peanut butter cups for quite a long time. I prefer to eat the dark chocolate cup over the milk chocolate cups. The dark chocolate peanut cups are much better in quality than Reese's by a long shot. The chocolate is a higher quality. Since their focus in on the peanut butter and other nut better spreads, the quality is absolutely simply awesome. The peanut butter filling is smooth and creamy as it melts in your mouth.
In other corner, I have Theo Chocolate Peanut Butter cups, which comes in milk and dark chocolate. They are new to the peanut butter cup kingdom, but have always had excellent chocolate. They claim to the first Fair Trade Peanut Butter cups. but Justin's has been fair trade for as long as I ate them. These cups are palm and soy free, vegan, gluten free, and kosher. The print on the package was colorful as I have known their products to be.
When I opened the packaging to eat the peanut butter cups, they were not individually encased in a paper wrapper, which was different than I was used to. Justin's has their peanut butter cups wrapped individually in the packaging which is good and my preference. I have had a few times this summer where I left my precious cups near the sun and the chocolate. Let's just say that the refrigerator saved the day and allowed to eat them in my big block. 'Nuf said!
It took a bite out of the first peanut butter cup from Theo and found the peanut butter had a similar quality. The peanut butter was of excellent quality, but missed the creaminess compared to Justin's. On the other hand, the quality of the chocolate was very well done since that is their speciality.
Overall, I think both companies did very well with their peanut butter cups, but I still think Justin's is the best and came up on top.
Justin's is the winner of this peanut butter cup taste test.
