"When you take risks you learn that there will be times when you succeed and there will be times when you fail, and both are equally important. - Ellen DeGeneres"
It is 2014. We are in a new year. It is a time for new beginnings. It is all about starting over with a clean slate.
With a new beginning, it is important to understand where you came from and look what you did before. Some things in life may have went well. Some things may have been a total disaster. With that said, it is important to take things in life with a grain of salt. It is also important to bring in some humor though the pain.
For me, 2014 will be a year of taking risks in my life. I am 10 months away from the big 4-0 and I need to end my 30's with a bang. I need something that will put the icing on the cake and close this chapter in my life.
No, I am going to do something really stupid. No, I am not going to do something that might hurt someone physically or emotionally. No, I am not going to do anything that might embarrass my friends or family.
I just going to write a book.
Yes, a book!
And it has a title: "A Journey to Nirvana Using Knitting Needles and Running Shoes."
After re-writing my query letter, I spent last night on my computer sending it to 10 different prospective literary agents. I have another seven more literary agents that I plan to write to as I have some of the book written since they prefer to see a proposal and/or a sample chapter already written.
I would be lying if I told that I was not scared sh**less! I am taking a huge risk and going outside of my comfort zone. I am taking a risk at possible rejection. I am putting everything out there.
I am know that it will be completely worth it. I am so ready to take this risk.
Bring it on!
