What do you get when you combine a charity with a race? A perfect partnership.
What do you get when you add that same combination with chocolate? A very sweet partnership.
RAM Racing and Little City Foundation have partnered together for the 2nd annual Hot Chocolate Walk in order to promote awareness for autism and other developmental disabilities. This race will be combined with the Hot Chocolate 15/5K race.
Little City Foundation has developed innovative and personalized programs to fully assist and empower children and adults with autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities. The organization has a 56-acre campus in Palatine and offices in Chicago. This organization does a lot of great things for the Chicagoland community to create awareness and assist those affected by autism and other developmental disabilities.
The Hot Chocolate Walk for Little City will be held in Grant Park on Sunday, November 4. The 1.2 mile course will take walkers along the lake and offer beautiful views of the city.
The walk is a family-friendly event and strollers are welcome. Children under the age of 12 can register as junior walkers. All walkers will enjoy the same perks as runners which include a goodie bag with a hooded sweatshirt for adults and a T-shirt for junior walkers and will be able to celebrate their accomplishment with chocolate fondue and hot chocolate from the Ghirardelli Chocolate Company at the sweetest post race party! Participants will receive an official finishers mug after the race.
Registration is $48 for adults and $20 for junior walkers. Participants also have the opportunity to raise additional funds for Little City by going the “extra mile,” and creating individual fundraising pages to receive perks such as race entry reimbursement and gift cards.
Packet pick up (race bib and goodie bag) is being held Friday, November 2 and Saturday, November 3 under a big top in the south lot of Soldier Field.
I strongly encourage anyone to get involved with this great organization and participate in this event. I applaud RAM Racing to help benefit this organization. You guys totally ROCK!
