S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y Night!

S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y Night!

On this ninth day of 4-Star, I ask myself, "Whatever happened to Saturday night?" After clawing and scraping my way through the work week to the weekend, I found myself passing out at the finish line and choosing instead of raving and partying it up to catch up on one of my favorite pastime. I tell you! If sleeping were a sport then this past Saturday morning/afternoon was a marathon. I was completely content on just staying in and calling the weekend a wash but after some prying from longtime good friend, one time ex-boyfriend, and sometime 4-Star Explorer photographer, Christopher Thompson.

I'd like to tell you we went on a fabulous expedition f some of the wonders of the city but you know what, being that I barely got out of the bed, sometimes you just wanna bum around your stumping grounds. We started out the evening with a bit to eat at Lone Star. As I "gushed" at the interesting interior decorating of the restaurant, what with the buffalo skulls and dried cacti. We made chit chat and discussed for the umpteenth time just why we're single and dating horror stories. But the highlight of the evening was heading out to Rolling Lanes Bowling Center and finding one of my favorite arcade games of all time, Time Crisis! Move out of the way Silent Hill...this geek/gamer chick has a need for some machine gun action. Admit it, you've always wanted to be a police officer but who wants to do all that training? To quote the great rouge scholar, Sweet Brown, "ain't nobody got time for that!" For just two quarters I got to save the world from generically designed terrorists.

And to top off the evening we got to groove to some goodhearted "ratchet" music, characterized by such musical artists as King Louie, Lil Wayne, and 2 Chainz. Along with the music, another drove of classic arcade games provided the background as we shot pool at Sinbad's Castle. $1.00 in quarters and a flash of your ID will you an evening of fails, laughs, and trick shots. Overall, Chris and I conceded that this was the best "non-date" ever without any of the awkward hand placing or lack of eye contact.
